ABOUT CARLOS VILLALBA
Carlos Villalba is an Art Director, Designer, and 3D Artist working across videogames, real-time environments, and visual storytelling. With a background in fine arts and computer science, his work focuses on creating immersive worlds through lighting, composition, and cinematic visual direction.
Villalba began his career as a freelance 3D artist, developing environments, assets, and visual experiences for interactive media. During this period he refined a versatile skill set spanning modeling, texturing, rendering, and real-time production pipelines, building a strong foundation in digital art and visual storytelling.
He later served as Art Director and Design Lead at Enver, where he directed the visual development and release of six projects over a two-year period. In this role he balanced artistic vision with production constraints, ensuring that visual design supported both gameplay and user experience.
Alongside his professional work, Villalba has contributed to the education of future artists and developers. He has taught game development and digital art at VIU – Universidad Internacional de Valencia and SAE Institute Barcelona, mentoring students in practical production workflows and creative problem-solving.
Currently based in Valencia, Spain, he continues to work across art direction, design, and real-time visual development, exploring new approaches to immersive environments and interactive storytelling.

“I have really appreciated working with Carlos and everything that he have gave to Enver. Carlos is one of a kind and his support throughout the projects has been amazing.
Carlos has taught me a lot about many things and helped me learn/grow about many new things/techniques. We wouldn’t be where we are at today without him. I really do appreciate everything he has given.
Not only on the skill side and direct work side but also helped Enver create and foster a team culture and chemistry throughout the teams you were working with which is essential to creating a motivated, but light and fun environment to work in.”

“I meet Carlos as a student (ESAT) and as a professional (ARLOON). He always amazed me with his passion for details, his imaginative solutions and his huge technical knowledge.
It’s always a pleasure to see how he finishes a 3D scene, taking care of the lighting and and every shader specification.
He is also a classic artist, with drawing, color and anatomy knowledge, skills that make him a valuable asset.
In addition to all that he is a pleasant and very concern person, he is always keen to help, which creates a friendly working environment.”
